ABOUT KATE

Welcome! I'm glad you're here. I have a BA from Claremont McKenna College in Southern California and a Master's degree in Counseling from Sonoma State University in Northern California.  I am a professional counselor, currently working under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Aasheim. Additionally, I have advanced training from the Portland Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Institute, suicide prevention training from ASIST, trauma-specific training from Portland State University, and have completed additional coursework at Lewis and Clark College.

My work as a counselor started in schools, where I've worked with hundreds of middle and high school students, supporting them (and their parents!) through the incredibly tricky time of pre-adolescence and adolescence. Since then, I've both expanded and refined my professional scope to include more intensive therapy with young people and adults.

My style is casual and comfortable, and our work together will be collaborative and creative. I strive to provide a sanctuary for my clients away from the chaos of life, a space just for you. You will be challenged in this process, but I want our sessions to be something you look forward to each week.
