APPROACH

At times, life can feel messy and tangled, but I believe we can all achieve a state of well-being. Sometimes, our true self isn't in alignment with our life-choices. If you are dealing with a challenging phase of life, or if things have become dull and mundane, let's identify unsupportive patterns that might be present in your life and chart a new path forward.
My approach is active and warm. Our sessions will challenge you, but I also hope that you to look forward to our time together. I strive to allow for sessions that feel like a sanctuary from weekly life, time that's carved out just for you and your goals. Most of the time, my therapeutic style looks like a natural conversation. We may also engage in specific activities to equip you with tools to more successfully navigate areas in your life where you might be stuck.
From a theoretical standpoint, I draw upon Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and mindfulness techniques.

For couples, I'm drawn to Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT-C) and Terry Real's work. Both are structured approaches to couples therapy, based on the science of love and bonding. Both models have good emperical data demonstrating high efficacy.
