ABOUT KATE

Welcome! I'm glad you're here. I have a BA from Claremont McKenna College in Southern California and a Master's degree in Counseling from Sonoma State University in Northern California. Additionally, I have advanced training from the Portland Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Institute, Portland State University, and Lewis and Clark College.

My work as a counselor started in schools, where I've worked with hundreds of middle and high school students. From there, I opened a private therapy practice where I see individuals ages 11 and up. I am particularly interested in working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, life transitions, and grief.

I'm honored to be a part of my clients' life-journey. By bearing witness to the story of others, and through experiencing my own challenges, I've developed a deep and abiding love for the goodness in humanity, even in spite of the pain that is inherent in being alive.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I love to run, read literary fiction, immerse myself in nature, enjoy the arts, and spend time with my community. I have a partner, two children, and two cats.
