Individual Psychotherapy
I work with adult clients who are experiencing psychological distress, often as a result of a fractured relationship with self or others. If you identify as carrying relational pain that you believe might be the cause of low-self esteem, addiction, persistent self-criticism, or a general sense of feeling stuck, we'll likely be a good fit for one another. My approach is active and warm. And while I hope our sessions challenge you (after all, change doesn't come from replicating old patterns), I also expect that you will look forward to our time together each week.
What to expect during a session with me:

Our work together will likely begin by building an awareness of what's true for you cognitively, emotionally, and physically. No judgement, just observation.

Often, we have protective parts of ourselves that need to be understood and loved. We might also have an inner child that was wounded years ago and needs healing. All of us have a deeply wise core self with whom we might have lost touch.

Using polyvagal theory, we will identify what part of your nervous system you most often inhabit and will move you into greater states of regulation, safety, and contentment.

Often, our minds, bodies, and hearts are disconnected from one another. By bringing awareness to our physical bodies, we begin to align the various dimensions of our being.
